Raising Beyond School ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to our quiz, website, directory, blog, and any related products (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
We collect information you provide directly and information collected automatically when you use our site. Information you provide includes: your email address (to send quiz results, newsletters, and purchased products), your quiz answers and matched methodology, free-text comments or questions you submit, and any details you enter when enquiring about a school (such as your name, email, phone, child's age, and message). When you purchase a product, your payment is processed by our payment provider (Stripe); we receive a transaction identifier and the amount paid, but we do not store your full card number. Automatically collected information includes: pages visited, referring websites, approximate location (country/region), device type, browser, and cookies or similar technologies.
We use your information to: deliver your quiz results and purchased products; respond to your questions and enquiries; send you related emails and newsletters (which you can opt out of at any time); improve our content, quiz, and website; measure and analyze traffic and how families use the site; run and improve A/B tests of our pages and offers; detect, prevent, and address technical issues, fraud, or abuse; and comply with our legal obligations. When you submit an enquiry to a school, the details you provide in that form are shared directly with that school.
We use cookies and similar technologies (such as local storage and analytics pixels) to remember your consent choice, measure traffic, understand how you found us, and improve the site. We do not require cookies for the quiz to function, but analytics and advertising tools may set cookies when enabled. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, and our cookie banner lets you accept or decline non-essential tracking at any time. Declining non-essential cookies does not prevent you from using the quiz or reading the guide.
We rely on trusted third parties to operate the site and deliver our services. These may include: payment processing (Stripe), email and marketing automation (GoHighLevel), analytics and advertising (such as Meta/Facebook and similar platforms), and hosting and infrastructure providers. These providers process data on our behalf or under their own terms and may set their own cookies. We do not share your personal information with these providers for their own independent marketing purposes. Each provider is responsible for its own privacy practices, and we encourage you to review their policies.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising in exchange for money or anything of value. This applies to all visitors, including residents of California (CCPA/CPRA) and any other jurisdiction with similar rights. Because we do not sell personal information, there is no need to opt out of a sale. You may still exercise all of your data rights described below at any time.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to: access or request a copy of the personal information we hold about you; request that we correct inaccurate information; request that we delete your personal information; request that we limit or stop certain processing; opt out of certain marketing communications; and withdraw consent to processing where we rely on your consent. We keep your personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy or as required by law. Quiz answers, lead enquiries, and purchase records are retained to provide the service, respond to you, and maintain accurate records, and are deleted or anonymized when they are no longer needed. You may request earlier deletion at any time by contacting us.
Our site is designed for parents and guardians researching education options for their children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 16. The information we collect (such as a child's age range) is provided by a parent or guardian through the quiz or an enquiry form, not by the child. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information without parental consent, please contact us at hello@raisingbeyondschool.com and we will delete it.
If you are located outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using our site, you consent to that transfer. Where we rely on your consent as the legal basis for processing, you may withdraw it at any time. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority if you believe our processing of your information violates applicable law.
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. However, no method of transmission or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Payment card data is handled entirely by our payment provider (Stripe) and is never stored on our servers.
Schools that claim a profile provide their own photos, descriptions, and contact information, and manage enquiries submitted through their page. When you submit an enquiry to a school, your details are sent directly to that school and are then handled under that school's own privacy practices, not ours. We are not responsible for how third-party schools store or use the information you share with them. See our Terms & Conditions for more on school-provided content.
You can opt out of marketing emails at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email we send or by contacting us at hello@raisingbeyondschool.com. We will honor opt-out requests promptly. Transactional messages related to your purchase or enquiry may still be sent where necessary.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. The most current version will always be posted on this page, and the date at the bottom reflects when it was last revised. Your continued use of the Service after any change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
